Valentine’s Day in Bali 2026: Where To Stay and What To Do

When I used to live in Europe, Valentine’s Day was usually a good occasion to share a chocolate cake, exchange small gifts or go to the cinema.
But Bali offers something completely different. You can make new memories through cooking classes, cool hikes or artistic workshops. Given that all these activities are a lot more affordable than in Western countries, you can probably afford a full day of activities for a reasonable price.
On of my favourite things to do on Valentines day in Bali is going for a painting class, a massage, food and a really good sunset.
In Ubud, you can find the best artisans and artists of the island so going for a fun workshop led by absolute masters is a sweet way to create memories for sure.
The same goes for a traditional Balinese massage and sunsets, which are pretty dramatic in Bali.
Today I will go through different options from stunning walks to sunsets, hikes, romantic restaurants and my recommendations for the spiciest hotels too!
#1 Go For Rice Field Walks during Sunset
Take a peaceful stroll through the stunning rice fields of Ubud. The Campuhan Ridge Walk and Sari Organic Walk are the best walks in Ubud, and around sunset, they are extra special.
My favourite is Sari Organic Walk because the sunset reflects the water in the rice fields and amplifies the colours of the sky!
On that walk, there are traditional organic restaurants where you can stop and have delicious food. You can also head to Sayan Point for dinner (see picture above) – this restaurant has the best view in Ubud and it’s super affordable!
#2 Get A Proper Couple’s Massage
The traditional Balinese couple’s massage is a must! It entails a soothing bath with tropical flowers and a 1-hour massage.
If you’re in Ubud I would recommend Svaha Spa, they have the best views from their giant windows and it’s super luxurious at a decent price!

#3 Go For An Adventurous Hike
If you want to create some bounding on an adventurous Valentine’s Day, you should go for a morning trek to Mount Batur!
Reaching the summit in time for sunrise is a rewarding experience, and the view is honestly worth the effort! There are 2 alternatives in terms of hiking tours.
You can either go for the classic ➡️ Sunrise Tour With Breakfast or the ➡️ Sunrise Tour With a Stop At Hot Springs After. They are both amazing!
#4 Sign Up To A Painting Class in Ubud
If you like creative activities, you could try a traditional Balinese painting class in Ubud.
They are a lot of fun and it’s nice to meet other people during the class too.
They have 2 slots available every day; one late in the morning and one in the early afternoon. ➡️ I always book mine through Get Your Guide because it’s super easy to reserve my slot!
#5 Go To A Sound Healing Experience Together
If you love the soothing effects of sound healing, you should try it at one of Ubud’s famous wellness centres.
The Gong Baths at the Pyramids of Chi or a sound healing session at The Yoga Barn are the best ones. You could also join a Kirtan or a regular yoga class together. It’s a good way to connect on a spiritual level if you are into it!
#6 Go For A Romantic Dinner in Uluwatu
When I think about the best Valentine’s Day dinner in Bali, the amazing restaurants in Uluwautu would always come to mind!
They are refined, delicious and with the perfect romantic vibe! The must-visit restaurant with the perfect view of a sunset in Uluwatu is Malini.
It’s right on top of a cliff (picture above) and they serve delicious fish. Sometimes they also have the traditional Kecak Dance show going on!
Would you like an alternative? Try The Rock Bar! It’s a bit more expensive but with great views over the Ocean too!
#7 Try Glamping in Munduk
If you want to be away from everything and everyone you should check out Munduk! Consider spending the night in a luxurious tent immersed in the misty hills of Munduk.
It’s a cosy and unique option for couples who want something different. ➡️ Desa Eko is one of the best options. They also have a beautiful and delicious restaurant on site called ➡️ The Botanist!
If you are up for it, visit the incredible Waterfalls in Munduk, it would be an easy day trip and it doesn’t require hiking equipment!
#8 Go For An Island-Hopping Cruise
Go beyond Bali and explore nearby islands like Komodo or Nusa Penida on a romantic cruise. Options like a three-day sailing trip to Komodo Island are perfect to visit Komodo Island.
For Nusa Penida instead you can either go on the classic sailing trip including snorkelling or get your private yacht with crew for an intimate sailing day to Nusa Penida!
#9 Book A Unique Accommodation in Gili Trawangan
You’ve probably heard about Gili Trawangan before, it’s one of the most popular islands of Lombok.
What you probably didn’t know though is the amount of incredibly unique accommodations on the island! They are stunning and at a reasonable price.
#10 Join An Organic Cooking Class In Ubud
Learn to cook traditional Balinese dishes together in this organic cooking class.
You will enjoy dealing with spices and ingredients you’ve never seen before and find out who is a better chef!
Most of the classes include a visit to the local market first, which is amazing! ➡️ Reserve your class in advance just to make sure it doesn’t get fully booked 🙂
#11 Go For A Fancy Dinner At La Brisa In Canggu
La Brisa, located in Canggu, is a dreamy restaurant with ocean views, rustic décor, and a carefully curated Valentine’s menu.
It’s a popular spot for couples looking for an Instagram-worthy date in Bali or just to enjoy the perfect view!
#12 Enjoy The Sunset In Nusa Lembongan
Spend the night in Nusa Lembongan, a beautiful island next to the touristy Nusa Penida.
There are quite a few restaurants by the beach offering live music and the sunsets here are just the best!
You can join locals and other travellers sitting on the beach to see all the shades of red in the sky! ➡️ I recommend staying at Segara Seaside Resort (pick the “deluxe bungalow with sea view”).
#13 Go For A Quiet Beach Day
If you want to experience a less crowded beach for a day, I have the best solution for you! Bias Tugel Beach, is a lesser-known spot where you can enjoy quality time together.
There are even a few places offering grilled fish at lunchtime right on your sunbed if you’re up for it!
