Let me start by saying that Sanur has delicious food and fancy spots for a date or just hanging out on your own! I’m a fussy eater and after experiencing this town for the past 4 years I can safely report the best places to eat in Sanur so there won’t be surprises!

Restaurants’ Location In Sanur
The main restaurants in Sanur are located by the beach or by Jl. Danau Tamblingan which goes through the Bali Icon Mall too! On this list below, you will find a good mix of really good restaurants in various locations in this beautiful Balinese town.
Best Breakfast Places In Sanur
Let’s start with breakfast. In Indonesia, locals would have Nasi Goreng (fried rice) that’s why quite a few restaurants and cafes would show this option on their menu. If you fancy a Western breakfast instead, here are the best options in Sanur:
Daily Baguette
This is the number 1 place to eat breakfast in Sanur! Daily Baguette sells the most delicious bread, amazing pastries and a wide range of breakfast options. There are 2 locations in Sanur.
One is within the Bali Icon Mall and the other is by Jl. Danau Tamblingan. The latter is bigger and has more bread available (in case you want to buy it).
Prices are very affordable. I normally get avo on toast, pan au chocolate and hot tea for about $5 or so!
Le Croissant
Le Croissant is a great breakfast spot in Sanur where you can get delicious waffles, eggs on toast and smoothie bowls.
Pastries are also tasty! I would say the price is slightly higher compared to Daily Baguette.
Cafe Akaya
I found this cafe when I stayed at the Akaya Hotel (which I loved). The hotel stay came with free breakfast at the Akaya Cafe and I would definitely recommend it!
This is the perfect place for Acai bowls and a really simple breakfast. The staff is lovely and the prices are affordable.
Top Lunch Spots in Sanur
When it comes to lunch, I assume you will be in proximity to the beach. There are plenty of things to do in Sanur, especially by the beach and the harbour is nearby which is perfect for quick boat trips from Sanur. Anywho, these are the best places to eat lunch near the beach:
Costa by Monsta
Costa by Monsta is a delicious place to eat the perfect lunch in Sanur Beach. A bit pricey compared to other places on the beach but the quality of food is really high and so is the level of service.
If you are vegetarian, they have a few options such as falafels and soups. Drinks here are amazing too! I believe my go-to drink is the number 3 which contains lime and beetroot. If you eat meat, the truffle burger is sensational!
Warung Anna
Warung Anna is a special spot located just off the main road, not really popular among tourists yet. It’s quite a small Warung but the food here is delicious and incredibly cheap.
A “warung” is a small family-run restaurant in Indonesia and it serves local food. If you eat meat, I would highly recommend Soto Ayam (see pictured above), it’s so good I would get 2 dishes every time I go!
If you want to try Indonesian food with a local, 👉🏽 try this beautiful tour of Sanur! It’s an e-bike tour and the guide will take you to the lesser-known places in Sanur! The tour includes a traditional lunch on the beach! Highly recommend it!
Sala Bistro & Coffee
Head to Sala if you want to have international food for lunch. They serve really high-quality food and they also have nice smoothies and drinks. Prices are average for Western food in Bali.
Best Place To Eat Dinner In Sanur
For this section, I would recommend a few places on the main road and some on the beach. There are so many things to do in Sanur at night and the picks listed below are not only delicious but also near the main night activities in Sanur.
Brasserie Republique
This restaurant is fancy! It’s super cute if you are looking for a date night location. Food at Brasserie Republique is French (as you guessed) and it’s rich in flavour.
Expect all the traditional French dishes as mains, including Coq au vin (but also easy burgers if you fancy one). They also have a chocolate lava cake to die for, definitely get one for dessert!
L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina Icon Bali
I like L’Osteria because it’s right by the beach and it’s also part of the Bali Icon Mall (however it’s not inside the mall). The service is exceptional, there are genuinely nice people working there and the food is delicious! Now, as an Italian, I feel the call to go into more detail.
You should definitely have pasta here, it’s really well done and the sauces are also fantastic. Risotto is great, ravioli also but don’t go for pizza (however I’m from Naples so I’m extremely fussy). Desserts here are amazing too, I would recommend the chocolate and orange cake.
TAPHA
Tapha is one of the best international restaurants on the island and I have to say it looks amazing in the evening! It’s right by the sea and they serve Indonesian and International meals.
Top tip: If you’re in the mood, you should visit the Sandhu Night Market. They have delicious street food, but choose wisely in order to avoid Bali belly!
Best Spots For Drinks and Desserts
After talking about lunch and dinners let’s move to a really important topic – Desserts! In this section, I will go through the best places to eat dreamy treats in Sanur.
Batujimbar Cafe
This is a super chilled place for a drink and desserts in Sanur. At the Batujimbar Cafe, they often play jazz music. The artists would play music inside the cafe but if you are sitting outside you can still enjoy the music through their speakers system.
Griya Santrian
Griya Santrian is right by the beach and has some of the best live music in the evening. Desserts here are really good. I normally get a Lava Cake (yes, I’m clearly obsessed with this cake) and chamomile tea while enjoying some acoustic music.
Gelato Factory
There are a few gelato spots if you are craving it! As an Italian, I have to say Gelato Factory is the best one in Sanur. (If you are heading to Ubud check out my guide to the best Gelato)
