Overview: Best Neighbourhoods for Solo Travellers in Singapore
As a female solo traveller, the first time I went to Singapore, I had no idea where to go and which area was going to be the safest.
Turns out, Singapore is super safe and it’s not actually as big as you think! After being there quite a few times now, I can report back that my favourite is Joo Chiat because it has lots of character and it’s not touristy at all.
That being said, there are many other options based on what you like doing when exploring a new place alone. Hereβs a quick look at the cityβs top neighbourhoods! This is an interactive map, so if you click on the red icons, it will tell you exactly the name of that neighbourhood:
- Joo Chiat β East Singapore
This is the perfect area if you want to have a cultural experience of Singapore and watch an incredible sunrise in the morning.
- Marina Bay β Central/South
Best for sightseeing, city views, and solo travellers who want to stay near iconic landmarks.
