How to Get from Bangkok Airports to the City Centre
Bangkok’s two airports, Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueang (DMK) serve as major hubs for international and domestic travellers. They are both very well connected to the centre, let me tell you how:
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)
The Airport Rail Link is the most efficient and budget-friendly option. It takes around 30 minutes to reach central Bangkok, stopping at key stations like Phaya Thai, where you can connect to the BTS Skytrain network. Tickets cost between 15–45 THB, depending on your stop. However, if you are travelling late at night, or it’s your first time visiting Bangkok, I would recommend booking your driver in advance on Klook.com. This is also the case if you have more than one suitcase to carry by yourself.
Don Mueang Airport (DMK)
Public buses are a popular choice for budget-conscious travellers. Shuttle buses like A1 and A2 connect Don Mueang to key transit hubs, such as Mo Chit BTS Station and Chatuchak MRT Station, in roughly 30–40 minutes, with fares around 30 THB (check out prices on 12Go). If you want to book your driver in advance I would recommend doing so via Booking.com, it’s easy and affordable.
