12 Best Dinner Spots in Ubud for Female Solo Travellers

Hello there! I’m not sure if anyone told you but in most cases, going out for food in Bali is cheaper than cooking! This is because unless you go to the local markets, international supermarkets would import the food making it quite pricey. So going out for dinner is affordable and an enjoyable experience where you can potentially meet other people or just relax on your own. In this blog post, I will go through the absolute best dinner spots in Ubud for female solo travellers! Ubud has some of the best restaurants on the island and caters for all food requirements. From authentic Balinese cuisine to vegan delights and international flavours, Ubud has it all. I chose these places because they won’t make you feel alone, they are not pretentious and are in a totally friendly environment.

Are you ready? Let’s go!

Best Indonesian Spots in Ubud for Solo Travellers

Indonesian food is delicious and quite cheap compared to Western alternatives. It can be mild, spicy or super spicy. You could also have vegetarian, vegan or meat options. It really caters to all diet needs. There is one thing I can tell you for sure, whatever you will peak is going to hit the spot! Sometimes I would have a hot soup even if it’s super hot outside and I’m literally sweating whilst eating it. That’s how good Indonesian food is!

Right, make sure you read this because it’s important. There is something you need to know about where to get Indonesian food. You have 2 options:

  • Street food from stands on the road or markets
  • Warungs (small family-run businesses) or restaurants

Now unless you know exactly which street or market stand to trust, the chance you will get the Bali belly would be really high. The reason is that the level of hygiene is not going to match with the needs of our body and the way we’ve been raised. The Bali belly is some sort of food poisoning that could be caused by a bacterial or parasite infection (or both) in Bali. You can read more about it here but let me tell you it’s not fun!

Going to the Warungs or restaurants gives you an extra layer of security and trust.

Now that you know the drill, let me tell you exactly where to go:
